The 24-year-old will drive the second Audi for the squad while team boss Rob Austin will sit out the meeting while his car continues to be repaired following his accident at Thruxton and mechanical dramas at Donington.
The team issued a statement saying: “Rob Austin will sit out this round due to damage sustained at Thruxton and a lack of parts.”
In the past, Bratt has raced in Formula Renault UK and recently challenged for the Formula 2 championship title, and will make his debut in the car Chris Swanick made his BTCC debut with for the 2011 final round at Silverstone.
In the team’s statement they also praised Bratt, and expect him to display the true pace of the Audi which they believe “has not yet been seen this season”.
Bratt has already successfully tested the Audi at Rockingham and impressed with his pace as he converts from single seater racing, Austin himself saying that he expects Bratt will be competitive and hopes a stronger relationship can be formed for him within the team should the weekend be successful.
Austin is however still hoping to return to the series at the next round at Croft on June 23/24, the team statement added. “Whilst we are sad not to have Rob out as well, he is still searching for sponsorship and we expect to have a pair of Audis out at Croft.”
