UPDATE: Jordan dropped to third by officials
Posted: May 1, 2011 Filed under: British Touring Cars Leave a commentAndrew Jordan has lost his runner-up spot from Thruxton’s second British Touring Car Championship race due toa time penaly handed to him by officials.
The Eurotech Racing Vauxhall Vectra man had finished second on the road to Honda Racing’s Matt Neal after passing the Honda Civic of Gordon Shedden.
But officials after the race decided that Jordan’s pass was achieved by cutting the Club chicane to get a run on his rival, and have therefore controversially swapped the second and third-placed cars in the results.
The time penalty, dropping him to third means that the Honda team have now scored two one-two finishes so far at Thruxton, with the third race still to come.
